Editing Practice

The writing of mythologist, author and professor Joseph Campbell was the foundation for this editing practice project.  Campbell is best known for identifying the Hero's Journey in stories both ancient and modern, including Star Wars and Harry Potter. 

In these three vignettes from his work 'Hero with a Thousand Faces' , Campbell talks about the significance of the mythological symbol of the Axis Mundi (sometimes called the 'center of the world' or 'world navel').

Hands-on Skills Workshop

​This clip was made for corporate leadership of STERIS, a world-wide leader in surgical equipment and supply.  The intent was to highlight the multidisciplinary and teamwork approach taken by three very different corporate divisions in order to provide the best service to the customer.  The video was made at St. Mary's Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.

As a LX designer, I believe in supporting stock media providers that are powered by Creative Commons (CC) content whenever possible. One of my favorite CC stock photo providers is Unsplash, where I am both a user and a contributor.

As of April 2020, my Unsplash profile has been viewed over 1 million times.  My photos have been used multiple times by BuzzFeed and Medium, including this publication.
